A self catering holiday apartment.

Our split level self catering apartment is on the first and second floors of a late Georgian town house that is approximately 120 years old. The nearest bus stop is only 150 metres from our garden entrance

The nearest railway station is Kingham and this is 4 miles away, taxis would have to be pre-booked. Charlbury station is on the same line (Paddington, Oxford and Hereford) and has more frequent stops as well as a connecting bus service to Chipping Norton – it is 7 miles away. We can arrange for a taxi to collect you if requested

There are two good sized supermarkets within 3 minutes walk.

The nearest RADAR toilet is 100 metres from the garden entrance

Arrival and Car Parking Facilities

Chipping Norton is an old town, founded in 1205 (before cars were invented) thus parking is in a public car park at the rear of the property; it is about 100 metres from the garden entrance. A nearer dropping off point is available just to unload. We will show you the parking arrangements upon your arrival.

Street parking is available, but only marginally closer than the public car park.

Entrance to the apartment is via a private road, then a private footpath. There are stone steps to access and them an external caste iron staircase to your entrance door. Chipping Norton is built on a hill, and the apartment is also on two floors, so if you have limited mobility this may not be the property for you.

On arrival you will be directed to the front dropping off point (in the market square) where we will greet you and settle you in. We will help you orientate yourselves and show you where to park.

Main Entrance and Reception

We live on site; your entrance is separate to ours and is upstairs. There is a cast iron staircase (1 metre wide) with a handrail on both sides. This leads to –

The sun terrace is 3 metres wide and 6 metres long. It has a metal barrier to keep you safe. The entrance to the house is off this terrace.

The main door is 70 cms wide, all other doors in the apartment are atleast as wide as this.

Your Apartment

You have your own internal front door, just a few steps from the sun terrace entrance

The apartment is approximately 120 years old with many period features; consequently it has its own unique character. There are steps in the hall due to a change of floor levels and the apartment itself is on two levels. The internal staircase has handrails on both sides and is 1 metre wide.

Dining Room, Lounge and Kitchen Living Area

The living area is on the top floor and is 6.8 metres by 5.5 metres. As it is the top of the house there are windows on three walls

There is a square wooden dining table with two leaf extensions that can comfortably seat six. There are six chairs to accompany this.

There is a large three seater sofa, and a good sized two seater sofa and bed settee. In addition there are adult size beanbags available.

Flooring is short pile carpet throughout, except for the kitchen are which is laminate flooring.

Furniture is moveable and is all non feather

Sky Satellite  is provided as are DVD, stereo

Kitchen Area (within the living area)

The kitchen is open plan within the living and dining area. The floor are (to the front of the fitted units) is 2.7 metres by 1.75 metres

Worktop height is 90 cms

There are two ovens, the lower main oven is fan assisted. It is 1 metre off the floor and can be accessed from both sides.

The sink is 90 cms high with fitted units underneath.

The dishwasher is full size and stands on the floor

The hob is halogen and is 90 cms high

Flooring is laminate

Evenly lit kitchen with spotlights above

Full size freezer stands on the floor with a full size fridge above

Double Bedroom

Door width is 85 cms

Double bed provided – 5 ft

Bed height is 58 cms from floor to top of the mattress.

Non feather duvets and pillows are provided.

Sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases are cotton/polyester mix

The largest free space clear of doors and furniture is 1.3 metres by 2.7 metres, (there is space the other side of the bed also).

Flooring is short pile carpet throughout.

Twin Bedroom

Door width is 85 cms

Two full size 3 ft twin beds provided

Bed height is 55 cms from floor to top of the mattress.

Non feather duvets and pillows are provided.

Sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases are cotton/polyester mix

The largest free space clear of doors and furniture is 3 metres by 1.6 metres (at the widest point) which is between the beds.

Flooring is short pile carpet throughout.

Bathroom

The door is 70 cms wide

The bath is enamelled metal with mixer taps and flexible shower over

Bath height is 52 cms

Free space is 1.4 metres by 1.1 metres

Flooring is short pile carpet throughout.

Washbasin is set into a vanity unit, with tiled area surrounds

WC (separate)

The door is 70 cms wide

Toilet seat height is 42 cms

Space in front of the toilet is 60 cms, with a small space either side of the toilet

There is a small corner hand basin opposite the toilet. Space under this wash basin is free as there is no vanity unit.

Flooring is short pile carpet throughout.

Laundry

Laundry facilities are available upon request.

Grounds and Garden

A decked sun terrace is provided for you private use. It is 3 metres by 6 metres and has a table and four chairs, more chairs are available upon request.
